Fonzee

Fonzee is a younger male mixed breed dog who gives THE best hugs.  He would do best in a home with another easy going dog, and he does well with dog savvy cats.  He is good with kids but older would be best as he doesn’t quite realize his size. He needs a bit of work on his leash manners but he’s a smarty pants and it won’t take long for him to catch on.  His Foster Home has had him for about a week and did a little Q&A about him so you could get to know him better.
  • How do they greet you at the door?
    • Fonzee is very excited when you get home. He will give you lots of hugs and he will wag his tail so much.
  • Do they snuggle when you are watching TV?
    • Fonzee does love to cuddle. He doesn’t realize how big he is and thinks he can always fit.
  • Do they sleep in the bed or in a crate or on the floor or somewhere else?
    • Fonzee sleeps on a blanket at the foot of our bed. He doesn’t like his kennel, but we are working on that.
  • Did they make any dog friends at the dog park or on a walk?
    • We introduced Fonzee to our parents dog. We are still working on going on walks together without distractions.
  • Have they met new people?
    • Fonzee has met our family that lives in town. He was very excited to meet everyone and gave everyone hugs. I believe that is just his greeting.
  • What’s their favourite toy and what do they like to do with it?
    • Fonzee doesn’t really play with toys. We’ve noticed he does like stuffed animals and will find the squeaker in them but won’t destroy them. He also has slept on his stuffed animals like a pillow. He does like tennis balls and will kind of play fetch.
  • Do they prefer men or women? Or is there no preference?
    • Fonzee doesn’t have a preference, he just loves everyone.
  • Do they have any quirky habits?
    • Fonzee has jumped up on the couch, bed and even the chair you’re sitting on. It’s very cute.
  • What is the most important thing we need to know about them?
    • Fonzee is slowly learning his name as well as simple commands such as sit, and shake. He came to us not leash trained or kennel trained, but over the last week he has gotten a lot better on the leash and is easier to get into the kennel. The one thing he does not like to do is getting into the car. You have to pick him up and put him in.
  • Do they eat anything and everything or are they picky eaters?
    • Fonzee will eat anything. We don’t keep food in his bowl since he will just eat it all.
  • Are they quiet in the yard or do they bark at noises that they hear and people they see?
    • Fonzee is very quiet. He has whined and yawns but we haven’t seen him bark at anything.
  • Are they more likely to enjoy napping on the couch  or going for a 5km walk?
    • Fonzee would love to go on a long walk. He has a lot of energy all the time. Some days he just wants to lay on the couch or floor and just relax.
  • Would you describe them as serious or goofy and why?
    • Fonzee is pretty goofy. He makes us laugh and smile all the time. He will jump on the back of our recliner when my husband is sitting on it to give cuddles. If you sit on the floor he’ll come give you hugs.
  • Tell us one thing that they did this week that made you laugh.
    • Fonzee will half jump on our bed to come say hi to us. Also this week, he jumped on the back of our recliner to come say hi and laid his head down.
